At least 400 new jobs are to be created in Scotland over the next
three years with the expansion of a marketing consultancy company,
it was revealed yesterday.
Marketing Management Services International (MMSI), based in Glasgow,
made the announcement as it opened its new £1.5m headquarters in the
city's Wellington Street.
There are also plans for the company to open an office in Houston,
Texas, as well as future bases throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East,
and in the Asian Pacific.
MMSI was established in 1988 and already employs 20 full-time and 100
part-time staff in its Glasgow office. It moved into the international market
two years ago.
An MMSI company spokesman said that one of the keys to the firm's growth
had been the development of it's unique Global Market Advantage System.
This allows MMSI to provide round-the-clock services using Internet-based
and other technologies, so that customers, mainly in the information
technology and electronics sectors, can benefit from up-to-the-minute and
detailed market intelligence.
Mr Gerald Michaluk, MMSI's founder and managing director, said: "Our
expansion reflects a growing demand for innovative solutions that provide
long-term stability and profitability for our customers. This is just the
beginning for MMSI and we plan to continue to target major global business."
